Shahin is a lawyer with an unconventional path to the profession. He began his academic studies in Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 2011. He then completed a Master of Management at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2013.

After his graduate studies, Shahin spent five years working at the Provincial Health Services Authority and BC Cancer, mainly serving in project management and leadership roles. This enriching experience taught him how to navigate complex organizations, manage competing priorities, and solve problems in the real world.

In 2019, Shahin decided to pursue a long-standing vision to connect his background in management and health care to law. He began his legal studies at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in Halifax, before returning to British Columbia in 2020 to complete his Juris Doctor at UBC.

Following law school in 2022, Shahin articled at a leading class actions and personal injury firm in downtown Vancouver, gaining practical legal experience. He then joined the Department of Justice in 2023, representing the federal government in administrative law, immigration, and civil litigation matters. He also advised on a range of legal issues outside of litigation.

Shahin brings his diverse professional and life experiences to his practice. He recognizes that legal problems are rarely just legal problems - they often involve people, businesses, and real-world consequences. His approach is straightforward: understand the issue and provide clear, practical legal advice to help clients achieve their goals – all with precision, empathy, and integrity.

Outside of law, Shahin enjoys cheering for his sports teams (Vancouver Canucks and Bayern München), going for walks with his family - including their strong-willed corgi, spending time with friends, and playing the piano.
